Continuing Education Hours
180 hours for initial membership 
20 hours annually 
Course Subject Requirements are in Four Categories 
Cat A Academic: includes scholarly articles, professional speeches or lectures, home-study
courses and some college courses. 
Cat B Professional Activities: includes attendance at a convention accredited by the APFSP,
single-theme workshop, service as an officer in an organization. 
Cat C Career Review: must submit a form to APFSP with documentation for this credit. 
Cat D Public Education: includes civic or church organizations and any offices held. 
Yearly Renewal  
You will be sent a dues renewal statement and transcript on your anniversary date with the academy. 
Independent study accepted with final exam 
Carryover of 40 credit hours permitted annually
